Alisa Magennis

C-IAYT, E-RYT500, Experiential Therapy + Inclusivity Consultant, Founder

My name is Alisa (she/her) and I’m a Yoga Therapist, e-RYT500 Yoga Teacher, Trauma-Informed Educator, and Ecotherapy Facilitator based in Madison, WI. I am also an animal rescuer, foster parent, and nature enthusiast. I specialize in trauma processing, addiction (substance and behavioral), and nervous system regulation (trauma, neurodiversity, stress, etc). I meet folks where they are at… I do not heal or repair. You are not broken. I simply remind people that they are whole just as they are, that they already have all the tools within themselves, and that the entire “goal” of life is to self-realize as deeply and profoundly as possible. I believe that we were born precisely as we needed to be and society, life’s circumstances, and other factors threw unnecessary obstacles and shame in our way that made us question ourselves, our power, our intuition, and so much more. I’m simply here to translate your body’s signals, re-write internal dialogue to one that is curious and self-affirming, and to give you a safe environment to explore yourself, just as you are, curious and free, and unapologetically you.

I provide experiential therapy and inclusivity consultation at various local mental health centers. In 2021, I opened up a tiny studio space to help those impacted by trauma and substance abuse and in 2022 we expanded as a community and continue to bring in passionate and compassionate space holders. If you are currently in recovery yourself (of any kind) or supporting someone dealing with trauma or addiction, please know that this studio was built on the foundation of helping you.

Jordann Mason

Jordann is a trauma-informed 200-Hour RYT, an Internal Family Systems Practitioner, and a YogAutism provider here in Madison.

Her passion is making movement accessible to everyone. She has extensive experience working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, having led her first yoga classes in an emergency shelter. Currently, she provides individual yoga sessions for neurodivergent children and adults in Dane County through the YogAutism program. Jordann incorporates all she’s learned into her current classes, adding in some Internal Family Systems work at the beginning and end of the practice.

It’s her hope that everyone who comes to a class feels empowered to move their bodies in a way that feels best to them, even if that doesn’t coincide with each shape being offered. You might hear her mention that everything she says is simply a suggestion, as each yogi knows their practice best. It warms her heart to see everyone in a different option during her class.

When she’s not working, Jordann can be found hiking around Madison with her pup Mabel, teaching big lifts at a local gym, or curling up with a good book.

Crystall Howe

Crystall Howe (she/her) is a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, 500hr-RYT Yoga Teacher, Molecular Biologist (BS), and Sound Bath Practitioner in Madison, WI.

She’s the Studio Director for Sukha Somatics and the Yoga Therapist at Inpatient Addiction Recovery Centers 5 Door and Tellurian. In her 1:1 yoga therapy practice, she primarily works with clients navigating substance use recovery, trauma, neurodivergent challenges, and chronic pain, including conditions like fibromyalgia and hypermobility syndromes (HSD/EDS).

Her teaching is rooted in a blended background—drawing from lived experience, years of professional training in yoga therapy and somatics, her previous career in molecular biology, and a deep understanding of the body-mind connection. She integrates evidence-based practices, ancient wisdom, and a deep respect for each person’s unique needs. Expect some silliness from time to time, and don’t be surprised if her dogs find their way into visualization meditations or yoga philosophy analogies.

She’s always been captivated by the art of turning life’s curveballs into something meaningful—the way people adapt, grow, and reclaim their agency even in the face of challenges. Her own journey through physical and mental health twists and turns (with plenty of “Wait… what now?” moments) led her to discover that movement, breath, meditation, and yogic self-inquiry aren’t just practices—they’re pathways to choice, empowerment, and unexpected resilience. At the heart of it all, she hopes to help people feel more at home in themselves—to uncover pockets of ease, self-compassion, and maybe even a little playfulness along the way.

Savannah Stanley

Hi! My name is Savannah and I am a RYT200 Yoga Teacher. I spent the last few years living in Central America. I completed my YTT in Guatemala, a country that I hold near to my heart.

I gravitated to the practice of yoga as an avid runner looking for a way to “cross train”. Soon, I realized that yoga’s depth expands immeasurably beyond the physical postures and its richness in wisdom fills the soul. My yoga mat became my safe place… a sanctuary that offered me grace in states of anxiety, disembodiment, and pain, as well as times of wondrous joy (+all the moments in between!)

Yoga is the anchor that continues to bring me back home; a teacher of mine said, “in the fast modern world where the focus is almost always external, coming back to ourselves is nothing short of revolutionary.” With my intention to integrate yogic philosophy and practices into day-to-day life, I believe that yoga offers each of us the power to live revolutionarily–however that looks for you!

I blend creative movement with awareness of the breath and the present moment. In my classes I’ll touch upon topics of yogic philosophy and Ayurveda, as well as cue safe alignment and offer a variety of options in meditation, breathwork, and poses to help you balance your nervous system. It is my greatest intention to create as safe of a space as possible, for you to feel comfortable arriving exactly as you are and revolutionarily cultivate peace within your body, mind, and soul.

Fun fact: in university I studied Cultural Anthropology and Spanish. I completed my senior thesis in Nicoya, Costa Rica called “Food and Culture Change; The Impacts of Tourism on a Costa Rican Blue Zone”. If you’re curious what a “Blue Zone” is, ask me in class! I would love to share with you my passions for food, nature, travel, and culture.

También, ¡hablo español! Doy la bienvenida a cualquier persona que se sienta más comod@ tomando una clase en su idioma nativo.

Megan

Megan began exploring yoga in high school as part of her own embodied recovery process. Receiving her first 200 hour certification in 2009 while in college, Megan has been teaching yoga for over 10 years, with an additional 200 hour certification in Alignment Yoga and two years of assisting their 200 hour teacher trainings as a co-instructor. She also works as an occupational therapist and enjoys incorporating yoga teachings and principles into the clinic.

Her personal practice and teaching draw from an eclectic blend of yoga, pilates, qi gong, meditation, functional strength, sensory integration, somatic movement, and above all, motherhood.

Overall, her driving curiosity is the exploration of how mindful embodied practices can help tend to the forgotten and misunderstood parts of our bodies, minds, and spirits. She is honored to be a part of the teaching team at Sukha, a community space where we can invite more rest and ease and support each other in our processes of recovery and reintegration.

Rachel Gunder

Rachel is a trauma-informed 200-hr RYT and enrolled in our Mentorship Program for teaching yoga in Behavioral Health settings.

Rachel is a warm and loving presence with boundless passion for nature, art, animals and you guessed it: yoga. She has explored a variety of yoga styles in her personal practice (Vinyasa, Bikram, Power, Hatha, Yin, Restorative) and pursues daily meditation as well. Seeking to further understand yogic philosophy and the mind, body, spirit connection, she underwent training to become a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) in December of 2024 out in rural Costa Rica. It was there that Rachel discovered her love of somatics and yoga therapy, which led her right to Sukha where she is deepening that knowledge now.

It is her belief that all beings deserve compassion & acceptance, exactly as they are in this present moment, they just struggle to give & receive it sometimes. So on and off the yoga mat, Rachel strives to help build a resourced community where open dialogue about mental health, pain & trauma are welcome and tools for peace are easily accessible. During one of her classes, students can expect to explore anatomical alignment, strengthening movements, the philosophy of yoga, and some asanas with the support of a wide variety of props. However, it is her number one lesson that all students listen to their bodies and respond with whatever movement or stillness they need. She is only a guide, but YOU are your teacher!
